Colette Bryce--Poetry
Colette Bryce is an Irish poet currently based in the North
East of England. Born in Derry in 1970, she has since lived
also in London, Spain, and Scotland. As well as writing,
she has worked variously as a bookseller, editor, and as
a teacher. She has published two poetry collections with
Picador, The
Heel of Bernadette (2000) and The
Full Indian Rope Trick (2005). For these she has received
the Aldeburgh First Collection Prize, the inaugural Strong
Award in Ireland, an Arts Council England writer's award,
and first prize in the National Poetry Competition 2003.
From 2002-2005 she was fellow in Creative Writing at the
University of Dundee, and in 2004 was poet in residence
at the biennial Poetry International festival on London's
South Bank. She is the current North East Literary Fellow
at the universities of Newcastle and Durham and is working
on poems towards a third collection. |

Christopher Wakling--Fiction
Christopher Wakling was born in 1970. He studied English at Oxford and has worked as a farm hand, teacher and lawyer. He has written four novels: Towards the Sun, The Undertow, Beneath the Diamond Sky and On Cape Three Points. Christopher Wakling is the Royal Literary Fund Writing Fellow at Bristol University. From time to time he teaches creative writing for the Arvon Foundation, and writes travel journalism for The Independent. Married with two children, he lives in Bristol.

Michael Carson--Poetry
Michael Carson has taught literature and
writing at the University of Evansville since 1969. His
poems have appeared in a variety of journals including Westview, The Formalist, The New Virginia Review, The Spoon River Quarterly, Measure, Bitterroot International
Poetry Journal, Amaryllis, and The Southern
Review. Dr. Carson earned his B.A. from the University
of Evansville, his M.A. from Miami University in Ohio, and
his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. His poem "Words"
was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He has served as poet-in-residence
at St. Meinrad College and as a participant at the Bennington
Writers' Workshops and at Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.
Dr. Carson was named outstanding Teacher of the Year in
1978. He teaches creative writing, Shakespeare, and world
cultures. |
