Harlaxton Summer Writing Program: Field Trips

While there will be ample time for traveling on one's own, there will also be several trips organized for Writing Program participants.

Field trips tentatively scheduled for Summer 2009 include the following:

  • A two-day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon to see a Shakespearean play performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
  • A trip to Warwick Castle, one of the best-preserved mediaeval castles in England.
  • A day trip to London for sightseeing and a play at The Globe Theatre.
  • A day-trip to York.
  • A weekend trip to Edinburgh, Scotland.
  • A long weekend trip to Paris, France.
  • A visit to the home of D.H. Lawrence.
  • Newstead Abbey, the home of Lord Byron.
  • Lincoln Cathedral.
  • Cambridge.
  • Lincoln Castle & the Magna Carta.
  • Roman Ruins in Lincolnshire.
  • Belvoir Castle.
